Oppo is being weird for me and won’t let me post a picture. For me it was a 1993 Firebird V6 auto.

As in, from the hospital when I was born? I was driven home in a ‘74 Toyota Celica.
First car I brought to my home was the ‘81 Honda Accord I drove in high school.

Like from the lot? Or hospital as a baby?

First one I literally drove home since I was learning to drive : 2002 Dodge Caravan
First one I owned: 2009 Hyundai Accent (I will be forever grateful that my dad gifted this to me)
First one I bought: 2016 Kia Forte5 SX (I love it despite its faults)

A red MK3 Jetta VR6 with a manual.

I happen to be at my mom’s house right now, and found this a couple of years ago.
It’s the screwdriver from that Celica’s tool kit.

I was driven home from the hospital in a black 1981 Subaru GLF hardtop with a decklid luggage rack just like this. Except this is a 1982 with the clear parking lights and quad headlights. Our car had two rectangulars and amber parking lights.

Brown Datsun 510, replaced shortly thereafter by a Silver 710 wagon.
First car was a Maxima, and am c urrently sitting in an Infiniti FX45 .
Datsun has been good to us.

1966 Chrysler Valiant Safari...a little like this one

Damn you’re young, or maybe I'm just old...
For me it was a 78 Dodge 1 ton flatbed

I don’t know... Fiat Uno or Opel Astra if it was one of my parents cars. But I’m not sure that’s the case. Some investigation is needed!

1965 Mustang coupe.

From the hospital? A Geo Metro hatch.

School bus. Not kidding. Was almost born in one, stuck in a snow drift. May have been conceived in one too (kidding. It was a station wagon. On a levy in the backwoods of SW Ontario. I’ve been there. Thanks for that info dad... ) .
Also first vehicle I “drove” at 3. Next one was a motorcycle at 4.

When I was born I was driven home in a Datsun 280z. When my daughter was born we drove her home in a Subaru forester

A 1987 Monte Carlo Aerocoupe.

I’m not 100% certain, but I think it was a Rabbit, much like this one (though I believe it had the blue CA plates):
My parent’s other car when I was young was a brown Toyota wagon (manual but not diesel) , but I think they picked that up used after they left CA.

The same one I’m still driving today: a 2091 Civic. Bought it just after Christmas in 2007. At the time I never thought I would own such a new car. It’s now 18 years old, has about 285,000 km on it, and has recently developed an oil leak.
Edit: just saw what you meant. I think I was brought home in some 1970s blue 2-door Chevy. Maybe a Nova?
![]() 03/26/2019 at 23:07 |

1963 Chevy Nova II, with original black and yellow CA plates.
This was also technically the first car I drove, as I shifted it into neutral at like 3 years old and it rolled across the street and up the driveway of the house across the street.

I actually have no idea. When I was born, my parents were in the Peace Corps, so “home” was in rural Burkina Faso , Africa. So there’s a pretty good chance it was a Toyota Hilux or Land Cruiser. Maybe a Land Rover. I’ll ask my folks the next time I talk to them.

Probably this SAAB 99:
Also my son coming home in my 13 GTI:

Well when I was born the only vehicle my parents owned was a motorcycle, I was most likely brought home in my dad's work truck, a regular cab F150, probably the grey one.

None. Family doctor still made house calls and home births . I was oozed out in the living room. But at the time my parents had a bi g block Coronet sedan. So it was the first car I rode in.

That might be cooler than the Subaru Brat...

Yeah sorry about the confusion Oppo was being weird.

Out of everything I have read so far that is the coolest
![]() 03/27/2019 at 19:50 |

Naturally the next question I have to ask is this, are your parents school bus drivers?
![]() 03/27/2019 at 19:50 |

Could lead to an interesting conversation!
![]() 03/27/2019 at 19:51 |

Always liked the Nova II
![]() 03/27/2019 at 19:52 |

Clearly a fan I see. The 510 is a cool little ride
![]() 03/27/2019 at 19:53 |

Sounds like the 280z might have been a little cooler “first car”

So French! What even is it?
![]() 03/27/2019 at 19:54 |

Are we playing guess the car? If so I haven’t a clue what that is.
![]() 03/27/2019 at 20:00 |

My dad was a car guy, although not a very good one. We had two ‘65 M ustangs, the convertible he bought because he was “helping” a friend and nearly burnt it to the ground.
![]() 03/27/2019 at 20:04 |

Yikes that is not cool
![]() 03/27/2019 at 20:24 |

My mum was cool . She upgraded to a (manual!) C-class when I was little but we still kept the E30 for years. I’ve never driven one and I would really like to one day.

I wish I still had them all.

My dad ran his family's bus company. My mother drove for a bit too. Another fun fact: my dad was my mom's bus driver. Asked her out on the last day of school.
![]() 03/27/2019 at 22:03 |

Sounds like buses are a big part of your family haha
![]() 03/27/2019 at 22:20 |

Just a bit haha. Shes yet to have a ride in the m3 but it’s plenty safe and has the child seat anchors. Shell have to wait a few years / decade to ride in the 02 maybe longer

Sorry, should have labeled- it’s the pic of my son coming home in my 13 GTI I couldn’t get to post after my Dad’s SAAB 99.

Citroën Dyane. Basically a ‘ luxury’ 2CV.

It does look like a fancy 2CV

It was the early 80's. Not unheard of, but not as common as it used to be . Wish he was still around, he was a phenomenal person and an awesome staff.

I literally would not exist as I am, without them.
